Who are you Copying?
ME! TOTALLY MINE! Those are my lines! My pens! “I” created this… It IS an original… NOT TRUE in any way! The truth is I basically copied this doodle from a high school student where I work. But it got me thinking… In the world today, many of us are SO SURE about what we KNOW… WE are RIGHT and THEY are WRONG! WE are RIGHTEOUS and THEY are EVIL. WE are GOOD and THEY are BAD… and so on and so on.
But honestly, the reality… WE ARE ALL COPYING OTHERS! This MIGHT be worth thinking about… WHO are YOU copying?
I admit I was a little thrown off in the beginning by this post and had to read it a few times…it DID make me think a lot about how I interpreted your words!
Many people copy or adopt another person’s words and actions, sometimes without a lot of thought about impact on our world. Lately many people seem so self-centered and indoctrinated that it seems no one is thinking for themselves and reflecting upon whether or not they TRULY agree with what they preach…the act of listening and respecting the ideas of others seems to have been lost somewhere along the way.
I don’t think the act of copying others is inherently bad. I guess it all comes down to whether or not the impact on others and on our world is positive or negative.
Wait…but NOW it just made me think that whether you personally think something has a positive or negative impact—it is simply perspective. Who is right then, and who is wrong? Who even is to judge?
I guess I may need to think on this some more! 😂
Ummm… what? This is too advanced for my intellect! I need to do some thinking also… reconvene later! Thank you for this comment though, Betsy! I BELIEVE it is a GREAT one… if I can EVER figure it out! 😉
