I Do NOT Like This…
I realize there are people much more knowledgeable and smart than myself who are commenting on this, and in general the purpose of this blog is supposed to be about mental health and simply trying to live the best life possible… but I think this crosses into our well-being. I once heard someone describe Elon Musk as a “man who desperately wants to save humanity, as long as he is the one to do it.” To me, this is a very interesting description of an individual.
I don’t know Elon Musk. I really do not know too much about him as an individual or what kind of person he is, other than what I hear from social media and “news.” I do not wish to comment on Mr. Musk as an individual person or businessman. I DO want to state with ABSOLUTELY CLARITY I do not believe one person in this world should have such immense power and control without any checks and balances. Mr. Musk is NOT a federal employee. He is neither elected BY THE PEOPLE, FOR THE PEOPLE nor does he have any mandate to “serve.”
I am 100% IN FAVOR of making government more efficient and more capable of serving the people. I like this idea and will be watching closely. I hope this is “successful”, in relative terms. However, I am 100% against an oligarchic system of government in the United States. I HOPE that President Trump and Mr. Musk are doing what is best for the American people, but I am worried…
I am so NOT knowledgable about politics…I don’t get my news from social media (as many do today) and I don’t watch TV, so I should NOT be consulted.
However, the description of Musk is disturbing…narcissistic. I am saddened that these are the people who are having influence in our government today. I am surprised but at the same time not surprised that rich businessmen are able to represent themselves in this administration.
I wait paitiently for change.
Once again, thank you so much for the comment, Betsy! I do enjoy and look forward to your thoughts and commentary! I am not commenting so much on Musk himself, as I don’t really know him and his thoughts and motivations. I am just scared that so few people in this country have SO MUCH power and the ACTUAL abiiities to effectively run OUR day-to-day lives, in essence. It seems to me that with the amount of power, knowledge, and control that Musk has now, if you are deemed a “threat” or an “enemy”, watch out! That is scary to me… and makes me very sad for the people of this country and our collective future TOGETHER! All that being said, I STILL HAVE HOPE this will all somehow work out! We will see….
