The Fuel of the World

Ok, so I know I sound a bit crazy at times, and I still have friends. That amazes me, actually! This is probably one of those times. Just be like my friends and please let me rant a bit and things will be good again next week. I don’t know why this thought came to me exactly, but it did, and I think it is correct. Two thoughts actually, and they have rocked my whole world.

Thought #1: The world NEEDS feelings of discontentment and inferiority. EVERYTHING in this world is based off these feelings in us. Discontentment and inferiority are the FUEL of this world. The world’s largest economies are based upon buying “things” to raise our self-worth, status, ease, comfort, production, enjoyment, whatever… Governments are in place because someone “has” something I do not. The 2020 election in America… Huge discontentment = HUGE participation! Law enforcement, the entire legal system, even world trade is wholly dependent on some feeling “less than” others. From what I know of the world’s religions, the same thing. If you do not believe what I believe, you are less than… The ENTIRE mental health system… Don’t even get me started on pharmacology and substance use. Even education (something I believe in with all my heart and soul), is based upon discontentment and inferiority. “If you are uneducated, you are ‘less than’ your peers.” “If you don’t get a college degree, your life will be misery and drudgery.” Really? Are we sure about this? Absolutely? Without any doubts? Not me!

Thought #2: Although each of us MUST participate in this world (there is no choice in this), NONE of us NEED to feel discontentment or to feel inferior. This IS a choice! We do NOT HAVE to play this game. Although I do believe it is true the world NEEDS feelings of discontentment and inferiority to function in its present state, I do NOT believe we are required to provide this fuel.

These words are so easy to write and SO, SO difficult “to live.” Maybe I am wrong. Maybe we are required to contribute this fuel. Maybe it is the price of admission for our lives. But we DO have control over how much we contribute. Please think about these words. YOU ARE AN AMAZING MIRACLE IN SO MANY WAYS! YOU ARE A GIFT, MAGICAL & PRECIOUS, DESERVING! YOU ARE ENOUGH. YOU ARE MORE THAN ENOUGH. THE WORLD IS BETTER BECAUSE OF YOU.
