In working with a student this week, one day I had these four quotes written on the board. In preparation for this discussion, my original thought was, “How can I best help the student?” What I did NOT realize was how much help I need in my own relationship with myself. This week I have struggled to accept ANY love… from myself or any others. The quote in green was the last quote I wrote upon the board that day, and it was devastating to me.

Relationships are hard! Relationships will ALWAYS require work! Relationships are also inevitable! For better or worse, each of us are continually in relationship with ourselves, and whether we believe it or not, each of us deserves love. The difficulty is this… whether or not we accept the love we are given is TOTALLY up to us.
