Use your Words…
This week I had a student TOTALLY RISE UP and conquer ALL the fears she was experiencing and do EVERYTHING she needed to do… and just be a TOTAL ALL AROUND SUPERSTAR!!! I worked with this student for four months to get to that point and it was TOUGH!!! However, SHE DID IT! I could not be more proud of her!
I met another student this week, only in eighth grade, who states school really is not necessary for her because she “will just be a pole dancer and none of this matters.” Dang! These words hurt my soul! Only eighth grade and these are the words this young lady “knows”…
The words we use and the actions we show AFFECT our kids. They ARE paying attention They hear and understand MUCH, MUCH MORE than we might ever comprehend, but the things we SAY, the things we DO… MATTER! We can build up our kids to accomplish amazing things and RISE… OR… we can severely limit… simply with the words we use. Please pay attention to the words you use… Our kids are paying attention, whether we believe it or not!

It is shocking how so many people just live their lives around kids without considering how much their words and actions *can* truly impact the younger generation.
Working with younger kids, I realized in my years of teaching how important it is for students to also witness how you as an adult treat those around you–modeling empathy, care, forgiveness, positivity and respect in relationships, young and old, goes a long way. Unfortunately, the opposite is also true.
I wish more kids could witness positive words and relationships in the world around them!
I wish for the same thing everyday. In the end, I can only be responsible for myself and try to make the biggest positive impact I can.
We are all only responsible for ourselves. But our actions and words still affect others—negative or positive.
