Life is a Healing Journey…
At least, I think it is meant to be…
Life is Tough… without a doubt Tough with a capital “T!” No way around that one. Most of us enter this world crying for goodness sake, almost as if we KNOW it is going to be brutal… but somewhere in those first few moments, each of us, also without a doubt, stop crying… we take a moment… we realize we ARE ok… and we CAN do THIS… whatever “THIS” is…
But THAT is THE thing… in those VERY FIRST FEW MOMENTS in each of our lives we take our first steps forward in our “journey.” Each of us takes our own unique “first steps” forward… Do we cry out because we don’t want to be here or do we announce to this world, “I have arrived!” Do we snuggle down and try to hide or do we reach out to see what the world has to offer? Do we open our eyes? Do we keep them closed? Do we smile? Do we frown? Are we happy? Sad? Frustrated? Angered?
It doesn’t really matter what we do in those first few moments. EVERYBODY who reads these words figured it out! Each of us “successfully” entered this world and each of us has “successfully” continued on the paths we have chosen to get to THIS POINT! RIGHT HERE! RIGHT NOW! Reading these words… YOU ARE A SUCCESS STORY! As brutal as life is… SOMEHOW… you have made it! From the very first moments of your life onwards… you have “figured it out.” You have continually made choices and chosen paths along your journey that have gotten you HERE!
CONGRATULATIONS! I am VERY, VERY PROUD of you! I hope that does not seem dismissive or condescending… it is very honest and truthful. Life is TOO DIFFICULT! ALL OF US… no one is exempt… will shed tears… and blood… and sweat… and aspects of ourselves we might not have even known existed. For every moment that each of us will “travel”, there is a “price” to be paid… a battle to be fought… a lesson to be learned… a GAIN and a LOSS.
But YOU ARE doing it! YOU ARE HERE! Just think of all the battles you have won… all the knowledge you have gained… all the steps forward you have taken! You have accepted the challenge of the journey that was proposed to you in those very first few moments of your life… and you have SUCCEEDED! YOU ARE HERE! YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL! YOU ARE CAPABLE! I BELIEVE IN YOU! Carry on, my friend… carry on.
