Making MORE ICE to fight ICE…

I am sorry but this does not make any sense to me… In parts of Minneapolis, private citizens are setting up barricades and checkpoints and running people’s license plates and basically creating a ”border” to not let “bad people into their neighborhoods”… WHAT? REALLY? Hmmm… This frustrates the heck out of me!

ICE has been operational in the U.S. since 2003 with the directive to secure the borders of the United States of America and “not let bad people into this country who do not belong here.” In my opinion, they have done a good job when utilized. In fact, Tom Homan, a person I regard very highly and whom I admire as one of the more prominent leaders at the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) was awarded the prestigious Distinguished Presidential Rank Award in 2015 by President Obama for his exceptional service and execution of immigration enforcement. Tom Homan is STILL with DHS and is STILL working on immigration enforcement and is STILL worthy of the prestigious medal he received from President Obama.

Mr. Homan has testified before Congress. He has been on all the news reports and talk shows and every other platform that has tried to create a “gotcha” moment that proves ICE is operating in an “illegal or harmful manner.” His response remains always the same. “If you want ICE to operate in a different manner, change the laws. ICE will operate and carry out its duties as assigned by the laws of this country.” He has also stated many times he has no problem reforming ICE policies and operations that will contribute to the safety of both U.S. citizens and ICE officers. That seems reasonable to me. What does not seem reasonable to me is private citizens “acting” like ICE to “fight” ICE…
