March is “Women’s History Month.” I always find it strange when “someone” or some “entity” tells me I should celebrate some person or group of people for a day or a month or some period of time. First, don’t tell me what to do! Please! I am a grown man and if I want to celebrate something, I will do it! If I don’t, I will not! Second, WOMEN DESERVE A WHOLE HECK OF A LOT MORE CELEBRATING THAN A STUPID MONTH!
In many ways, I don’t feel I am the correct person to write these words, so I am going to make this short. The fact is I am a male and I have not always followed my own advice. But good advice is good advice, so here goes. If you are a male in this world, you are privileged, and you are privileged because of a woman. This month, and every month, be kind! Be respectful!. Be appreciative and helpful. Be an advocate and be a voice (when needed). Be patient and loving and be knowledgeable in the fact that you and this world do not exist without women. We are all needed. We are all important. We all deserve to be here and we all deserve respect, love, and equity.
