Swimming Backwards Upside-Down

Published

A short book that has become far more relevant now than when if was first published. In the most basic of summaries: if a person truly wishes to be content, successful, and healthy in all ways possible — take responsibility for the life you are creating.

From the author

“Swimming Backwards Upside-Down” is a short book that was published in 2014. The only reason this book was published was because I thought it would “be cool to publish a book.” I never really thought anyone would actually read the words, much less understand what I was trying to communicate. Then I met Rowan…

The story of Rowan and I is captured in the podcast.

However, Rowan is the reason I find any value in the words I wrote more than 12 years ago now. In actuality, the book and the messages it conveys are much more relevant and important now, than they were when originally published. In many ways, the importance of the book in 2024 was the genesis of the podcast. However, the book is more than capable of standing on its own.

It seems that today words like “personal responsibility”, “accountability” and “acceptance of results and consequences” can be found everywhere. They are also found in the book. In the most basic of summaries, the idea within the book is if a person truly wishes to be content, successful, and healthy in all ways possible, take responsibility for the life you are creating. Accept all the results of the thoughts and actions you experience as an individual and work to create the life you desire.

Powerful words that are so easy to write but prove so difficult to practice. However, if one is able, the possibilities are endless.
